reason to NOT use CLEAR internet
UPDATE (December 2010):
I am still using CLEAR (but soon plan to switch to Time Warner). Service has been very poor (sometimes good and sometimes so poor that sites such as Pandora could not obtain the bandwidth needed to operate).
According to what I read on the CLEAR blogs, the service has been oversold in many areas, to include Austin Texas. At high use times they are intentionally limiting service to many users, yet instead of admitting this, they put users through the wasteful drill of disconnecting their router and re-booting their equipment, to troubleshoot the speed issues.
---------------------------------------
I recently decided I would try out Clear Internet.
I liked the idea of being able to buy it and get it all set up, and then move it from my apartment to my new house.
For this particular area it had decent reviews (although in some areas it has very poor reviews).
I purchased a modem, paid a sign up charge, and paid for the first month.
At this point I was into my commitment to try Clear for about $150.
Then came time to connect.
It seems that they are just not going to let me use the service, that I am paying a premium price for without agreeing to the following statement:
By providing this telephone number (whether wired or wireless) as part of our established business relationship, and regardless of whether this number is listed on the federal Do-Not-Call-Registry, you consent to being contacted by Clearwire (and/or its designated agents) at this number, for any purpose (including sales, marketing, and promotional offers) and by any means, including autodialed or prerecorded voice calls and text messages. You specifically acknowledge that you may incur, and will be sole responsibility for, charges relating to these incoming calls or messages.
I have seen sites that make every effort to get people to agree, even to go so far as to automatically default the choice to an X each time the user is returned to the page due to some omission.
However, this is the first time, I have ever seen a company, selling me a service at a premium price (with no discount over competing vendors), FORCE such an agreement on the customer.

Hello, sorry already that my comment has nothing to do with the related Post.
On MySpace i can turn my MySpace Band Profile (MySpace Music) into a 2.0 Profile too now.
It's kinda same principle than the normal 2.0 Profiles.
But somehow i can't costumize the certain modules with your 2.0 Codes that you've provided for the normal 2.0 Profiles, or i dont know how or where to put the codes.
Can u help me out with that, or Update your Page with Codes for the MySpace Music 2.0 Band Profile ?
Thank you for your effort : )
The code for the regular 2.0 will NOT work with the band 2.0.
I was going to upgrade one of my band pages and start playing around with it, but have not done so yet.
Keep in mind that the band 2.0 is very beta.
Hello, thanks for your answer.
Yea it's pretty beta i noticed.
I actually can talk to the certain modules on my Band 2.0 Page now
with your General 2.0 Codes provided.
I've tried with Friends and Comments Module so far and succeed to change width and position.
The reason it did'nt work for me before was because i was hiding the Basic Info Module.
As soon as u hide it to codes won't take effect.
I did'nt find out how to create a Div Overlay Element atm,
i mean at the page where you can choose which Tab you want to edit
( Biography , Membmers ect. ) it got shown after i coded it.
But not at the Profile then.
Also would be interested in how to costumize the own HTML Modules you can create in Band 2.0
in height, width, position and stuff.
Ahhha hehe the Div Element got shown after i clicked "More" at the Basic Information Section in the Profile. LoL weird. So that means no Div Overlay possible anymore right from the start ?
This is complete and utter BS. I am so glad I read this today (complete accident) i was honestly looking for Construction blogs to find some answers to a few random questions. i am in the construction industry (own a small Houston Wrought Iron fence and gate company--and NO I am not trying to spam you! But if I am going to leave a comment I know a little exposure never killed anyone!) AnyHOW...funny that your site popped up, but even funnier is this post since I LITERALLY was going to change to Clear TOMORROW--just had the convo with the wife at dinner! I had heard mixed stuff about it but to be FORCED to agree to SALES calls?! I am pretty sure I paid a few bucks a few years ago to be on the "absolutely do not call this number with a sales call or I will pummel your face!" list. What a crock. You saved me some serious hassle. Thanks. Random "good deed" you did for me!
