PLEASE do NOT strip my credits out of your code. They are harmless. Unlike most sites, My credits do NOT show up on your visible page, there is no reason to remove them. If you make a derivative of my work, you may add your own credits, but leave mine in tact.

I apologize for being less attentive to people's questions than in the past. I hope to return to doing this at some time. But for now I need to think about what I want to do. This doesn't mean I am completely ignoring all questions, if I suspect there might be a bug in my code, or myspace has made some change effecting it, I will still dig in and research.

MySpace blocks my links to Blogger

[note: I sometimes read the google queries that hit this site. If you are having trouble with the word verification thing, on myspace, just give it up for the night. Searching the internet to find out why it isn't working isn't going to make it work. When it doesn't work it just doesn't work, and you can not update your page. But you can still test your code changes, just make a copy of the source code, and edit it that way. Or just Try again later.]

[another note: If you want real information, about these new msplinks, go here:
smert.net article on the msplinks
or mashable.com on msplinks
Or more

As for a way to get around them, I found a few, but I am hesitant to post them. A Friend of mine figured out one of them and clued me in. The other, well if you want to know how to get around a filter, put in to stop spammers, just look at how the spammers get around it.
It isn't that I don't want to share the information, my concern is that if too many people use it, myspace will plug the hole.
But if you are patient (or even if you are not) eventually a spam message will hit your in box (Everyone gets these, right?).
Go ahead and click on it. If it has a link to another page (an obvious spam advertising page), why not click that as well. Look at how they construct the address line to get around the block.

As for my original blog article, that I wrote before I had a clue what was going on here, well it still exits below. I think I had the right idea and had I stuck to my plan, I would have deleted, rather than updating this article, by now.

-- My original Post related to this Issue --
Myspace has decided to block my links, from my myspace page, to my blogger page. (Well not 100%, and I am still trying to figure out what the criteria is they are using to block my link to this blog, while still allowing me to link to my other blog. [update: they have successfully blocked ALL my links to blogger])

[I should have stuck with this response;]
I guess I will no longer link from my blog to my myspace page. If myspace won't allow links to blogger, I will not promote myspace by linking from blogger to myspace.
Myspace is a colossal waste of my time. (I still have that code generator all designed in my head, that I will likely never actually write. But based on some of the questions popping up in various forums, I might write a friend round table generator to help handle that whole "top friends is a lame idea" problem. I could invent a new wheel, or improve on the old ones.)

I recently discovered a few things about myself I did not like.

I discovered I am much more immature than I had previously realized, when I became upset, over someone else getting credit (in a trivial myspace forum) for a trivial code bug (and fix) I had discovered, and had tried to point out to that individual multiple times. Some of my frustration was based on this particular individual having made previous attempts (within the myspace customizing forum) to claim my code was no good. He never gave a reason. At one point he even tried to claim that following the link to my code caused his virus warning to pop up. (Actually it was his sock puppet giving my sock puppet a hard time, if they can be called that, since the real people behind them is so easy to figure out.) The best way for me to handle this guy, is to just stay out of the myspace customizing forum.

[update: I didn't manage to stay out of the forum, and the last time I stayed up late at night troubleshooting a reported problem, my solution ended up on this guys page shortly after I posted it. But hey, the more the merrier right. Too bad I used tinypic for my screen shot, it would have been fun to swap the picture on him. OK, my immature side is coming out. ]

In something NOT related to myspace (see I do think about other things sometimes);
I have discovered that I am not as open minded as I previously thought. My views are not as "under construction" as I thought when I started this blog. I am working on that one. I have always liked to believe that I am open minded.
But the truth is, am just as biased as those I often criticize. I am capable of judging people, and assuming they fit into some group, based on much less data than is fair. Perhaps knowing this about myself is the first step to fixing it.
So I have not quit reading right leaning blogs, instead I am really trying to read them with a much more open mind than in the past.
(Some of the hosts of these right leaning blogs were the first loyal readers of my own blog before I shifted to myspace junk. I do get a lot more blog hits now, they come more and they stay longer.)

I just discovered this nasty little fact myself. Retarded.

Also, it doesn't let me enter AIM so that I can let people know my screen name. Also retarded.

Initially it had only blocked this blog, but kept my links to my other blogs.
Now it is blocking them all.
I don't know if it is an algorithm error in the msplink service, or an intentional block of blogger.

Oh well, this is just more incentive for me to ditch the myspace habit and do something more useful with my time.

Truth: I Never Accepted Tom as a "Friend" from the Start--HAHAHA

I spent many hours over the course of a year designing two random quote generators on my private AOL (paid account). They are two simple pages each with only one link back to MySpace! But the new msplinks have rendered the paths inaccessible from my MySpace page. What is it that's so threatening? My AOL acct. or the quote generator from Lycos HTML Gear? I've emailed their Help Desk 3 times and received the same generic non-answer to my problem. (Their troubled Goth msg. boards are no help either) If they are suggesting that I'm a phisher that's laughable! I don't even have "friends" or contact people via MySpace--It's just a design hobby in my lonely life. But I get the last laugh... MySpace and its paranoid geeks are more pathetic!

to get rid of the msplink is really easy just head on over to my downloads and help site and go to the MySpace Catagory and click on tips and trick then there will be a post in there on how to fix it up...
Just look at my profile for example just click my name and it will go there

Myspace just caught up with a couple of spammer tricks that I was using to post links on my page & on forums.

I'm now using a default profile until such time as the spammers find another way to make links work.

Yea, the spammers will figure it out, and the rest of use legit folks will just follow along.

Did you ever try the form method?
